RCDI provided technical assistance to AEAL (Alentejo Litoral Entreprise Association) in the development of the Mentor Me project, co-financed by the EU Grundtvig Programme. The partnership involved 9 partners from 8 Member States (Portugal, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Poland and Romania). AEAL was responsible for the coordination of the project.
The project was built on the support of mentors to create alternative job opportunities for young adults that have not completed basic education and have difficulty accessing the labour market.
Mentors were senior professionals over 50 years old, who shared their experiences and knowledge with the learners. The inter-generation dialogue created, contributed to improve the skills and the work capability of the learners and, at the same time, emphasizes the mentors’ sense of social usefulness.
Project partners exchanged experiences and good practices using an interactive website and through regular meetings with mentors and learners over two years.
